Wow! What an amazing weekend. I had originally planned on attending the Goodguys North Carolina Nationals in Raleigh but decided to drive to Bowling Green for the 10/10ths event at the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park. This was the last chance to test before the OPTIMA Series returns here in June. The three-day event, however, was shortened due to rain on Sunday.
Some of the individuals that participated and competed included:
James Forbis – OPTIMA Series Competitor
Todd Rumpke – OPTIMA Series Competitor
Ken Thwaits – Showtime Motorsports
Karl Dunn – OPTIMA Series Competitor
Dave Schardt – President of Forgeline Wheels

Karl Dunn and his Corvette participated in the event.
A total of 174 competitors registered for the event and each was a hardcore driver, not an enthusiast. The diversity of cars ranged from a multitude of C5, C6 and C7 Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, Porsches, BMWs, and a Lotus. Many of the drivers use 10/10ths as a catalyst to move to the next level and compete in NASA events. There is currently NO manufacturer support. I strongly recommend getting involved with 10/10ths as they continue to grow. The opportunity is there to partner with competitors as they move to the next level. As a start, we could offer product certificates and have product on display. I have spoken to the owner/promoter of 10/10ths, Bill Neal. It is at level of growth beyond what he ever expected. He offers driving instructors at each event. Danny Popp is the chief instructor.
